PRODUCTION

Ragged is producing in a collaboration with Texperium and Alliance.

The hair that is used for our clothing comes from Kinki Kapper hair salons. We transport this hair together with hemp by using our electric van to Texperium, so they can make yarns for us. Texperium is a Dutch production and recycling company. They will make our yarns, and do the recycling proces for us. After the yarns are made, they will be shipped to Alliance.

Alliance is a textile production company based in Europe which also produces in Europe. Ragged is producing sustainably and also fair by working together with Alliance.

The hemp we are using comes from the company StexFibers. This is the first sustainable factory in the Netherlands producing hemp fibres especially for the textile industry. The hemp will also be transported to Texperium. There they combine the hemp with the hair to make our yarns. When the clothing is ready for selling, we will place two orders per season, to decrease transportation, and therefore CO2 emission.

True Cost

We use hemp, because it doesn’t use as much water as materials like cotton. Since we save a lot of water, we like to give our true costs to people who are in real need of it. The good cause ‘Water for Life’ is taking care of the water amount in Africa.  We would like to donate our true costs to Water for Life and give clean drinking water to the people in need.
