KINKI KAPPERS

A very important partner of ours is Kinki kappers. Kinki kappers has a chain of hairdressers, spread throughout the Netherlands. We will be working together with five Kinki affiliates in Amsterdam.

We'll drop four big baskets at their salons and they'll fill them up with the hair they cut off. Each basket is for a different type of hair: blond hair, dark hair, frizzy hair and alternative colored hair. Every two weeks we will come and collect all the hair in one go. By this we again try to reduce our CO2 emission as much as possible. At the hairdresser we'll have folders with all the information about our brand Ragged. By doing this more hairdresser clients get involved in our proces and they can see where their hair is going.

Also we'll be hiring one Kinki hairdresser to cut hair at our concept store. A massive Thanks to Kinki kappers for providing us with our most important source: human hair!

After getting your order in a RePack bag, you can return your packaging by simply dropping it into any post box, for free.

once returned, you'll get a voucher in your e-mail. This voucher can be used at any store that uses RePack. By using this packaging, we can eliminate trash! So please return your repack once you've received it!

As a customer of Ragged you can also order an empty Repack by e-mailing / calling us. In this empty Repack bag you can drop your outworn Ragged clothing piece you don't want to wear anymore. You can send it to us for free and we will recycle the garment into new garments.

STEXFIBRES

We mix our main source human hair with hemp to make the garments more wearable. Since hemp is naturally a quite rigid material, we had some problems with the feeling of our garments in the beginning. Luckily we found StexFibres, an amazing, brand new company that specializes in making hemp for high-end fashion clothing. Their hemp feels soft against your skin. We use hemp as a replacement of cotton, so therefore the hemp is an amazing environmental winner. In contrast to cotton, hemp doesn't need ten thousands liters of water. StexFibres, for us, is a real game changer.

ALLIANCE

All Ragged designs will end up at the company Alliance. This Dutch company will arrange our (small) production proces. They make sure our designs will be made into garments in the countries Bulgaria, Turkey and Poland. The factories Alliance contact are always fair, which means the employees in the factories get a fair wage and work in good circumstances. Since Alliance will produce our clothing just in Europe, the clothing doesn't have to travel a lot of miles. We transport everything by truck and we reduce our CO2 emmision by producing close to home.

TEXPERIUM

Ragged clothing will be recycled by Texperium. Texperium is specialised in mechanical recycling, and focusses on non-woves, wovens and composites. By doing mechanical recyling a lot of fibres can be recovered, and can be used to make new yarns out of. Texperium will make our yarns and this will be brought to Alliance to produce the garments.

Ioniqa

We are a circular brand and are trying to recycle all the parts of our garments. The haberdashery we use in our clothing would be recycled by Ioniqa, a high tech plastic recycling company which is specialized in working with PET plastic. Ioniqa launched a novel circular recycling process for infinite recycling of PET bottles, textiles and carpets infinitely. Thereby contributing to the circular economy.
